I wanted to take a moment and explain the purpose of this forum with respect to custom keyboard layouts.
The Q International QWERTY Keyboard is general-purpose software that can be used for many languages world-wide. It is the product of 3 years of research and development. Even so, it's possible that a desired letter has been omitted, or perhaps the documentation fails to document something that is actually present, or maybe the documentation incorrectly claims a feature is available when it isn't.
The software and documentation have been exhaustively reviewed many times. But, as a mere mortal, it's possible that these contain mistakes. If you ever find something wrong with either one, please let me know and it will get corrected as soon as possible.
In addition, if a good case can be made to add another character, explain your requirement. If it makes sense, and if there is room to add it, I will consider it. (The question about "room" is important. Keyboard software has a capacity limit, and the current design is very near that limit. Thus, only a very few additional letters can be added, and so if that's done, the decision to do so must be made carefully.)
However, the author does not do custom keyboard layouts for individuals. Keyboard design is difficult and time-consuming, and my time is limited. I am also involved in designing new, general purpose keyboards that may eventually be available on this forum, and/or on www.omniglot.com.
If I were ever to engage in private keyboard layout development, it would have to be done for a fee. Because of the extensive amount of time and effort involved, I would not undertake that for free. However, I am not really set up to do business on the Internet, and the whole process would interfere with my other keyboard and language research efforts. So, I don't foresee doing private development in the near future.
I would like to thank everyone for their interest. My advice to everyone would be, download the Q Keyboard software and documentation. Read the help - even though it is admittedly quite long. Try it out. Not to (overly) brag, but the Q Keyboard has one of the most extensive Latin language support of any keyboard you will ever find. There is essentially no Latin language that is beyond its capabilities. If you REALLY think I left something out, let me know.
I am more than willing to help everyone, with updates and corrections that benefit everyone. But making keyboards for individuals is not really what this site is about.
I hope you will all understand. Thanks.
